JOHN SMITH WORMALD

John was a timber merchant living at Fulford, he bought an estate at Oldstead in 1829.

The family is commemorated by 'Wormald's cut' which ran from the River Foss to serve their yard in Walmgate.

He was Sheriff in 1820-1. He died at Fulford House in 1848 aged 65 years.
