Robert Tindale was born in 1797, he married Mary Longman in Aldborough on the 16th November 1822.

Robert was living in Elvington in 1861 and was a farmer of 135 acres. He and his family lived at Elvington House.
Robert died before 1881, his widow Mary took over the farm until she died in 1890, when she died.
