Bowman Family

The family can be traced to at least 1722 at Elvington. Most of the male members were vets and farmers.George Emerson Bowman a vet at Leeds, left £103,000 when he died in 1941.
He is also I think responsible for the naming of Hopewell Place in Elvington, as he lived at Hopewell House, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds.
