Not Forgotten
When September of 1877 began both Mr William Hudson and Mr Simeon Smithard were living me.
But it hath pleased the Almighty God, who doeth all things well, to take both away, both
suddenly, as men may reckon- both too when away from their homes.
Mr Hudson, from being a visitor to, had become a parishioner of Elvington.
Mr Smithard visited Elvington once a year for 12 following years.
Both Mr Hudson and Mr Smithard took part in the openair meeting, which was held
at the Grange on June 15th 1865.

aged 59 years.
