Note: This was a wedding between an Australian couple who had become friends of the Misses English, of Derwent House, Elvington, whilst they were in Australia touring on a Lambretta scooter, from Perth. They came back to Elvington and entertained a number of Australian friends here before both the sisters emigrated to Australia in the 1960s.
June English became a Matron of a country hospital and her sister Di became a secretary of a travel firm. They were the daughters of Tim English, auctioneer of Pocklington.
