William Brown eldest son of William  in Castlegate, Surgeon, by Lucy his wife, daughter of Mr Benjamin Ray of Thorpe Arch (deceased) died at his fathers on Jan 15th buried 19th Jan in the east end of the south alley aged 11 years. An enlargened, indurated spleen as appeared on opening the body

Mary Cundall wife of Robert  of Far Water Lane, daughter of John Paget, ale draper, by Mary Rayney his wife Died 10th May buried 14th May by the church porch near her 9 children aged 33 years Consumption

Mary Busfield, spinster of Far Water Lane, daughter of John by Ann his wife, died 9th Aug buried 11th Aug in the South churchyard under the window next to the Belfry aged 41 years. Cancer in her throat

Scupholme Chesman-Buck, late servant to Dr Dolman, and son of William of Miserton, Comm. Notts. Schoolmaster died 18th Nov buried 19th Nov in the north churchyard aged 19 years. Drowned himself

Esther Booth daughter of John of Sheffield, now a prisoner in the Castle under sentence for transportation for Highway robbery, died 22nd Apr buried 24th Apr in new churchyard aged 10 months. Convulsions

John Williamson, an executed convict of the Parish of Pickering who robbed the mail upon the 14th Dec 1774, executed on Sat 19th Aug Buried by his own particular desire in the north churchyard on the same day facing the door. Supposed to be about 50years old. Hanged

1779

Thomas England a convict for horse stealing whose descent is unknown. Executed at Tyburn near York 13th Aug aged 24 years

Thomas Towtle son of Thomas of Far Water lane died 26th Dec, buried 28th Dec aged 2 years. Fall into the fire

1786

Robert Noble of Pickering, widower & Bleacher son of John of Pickering (deceased). He was a prisoner at the Castle & under sentence of transportation for stealing yarn at the above place died 13th Dec bur 15th Dec in the north east corner of the north churchyard aged 60 years. Decay of nature

Robert Hewitson master of the Robin Hood Inn, Castlegate, son of William, weaver by Ann his wife of Market Weighton. Died Dec 26th bur 29th Dec in the north west corner of the church aged 71 years. Died in consequence of a fall down the stairs

Mary Blackburn of Thursday Market died Dec 29th buried 31st Dec aged 55 years. Died in consequence of a fall down the stairs & broke her neck

Thomas Watkinson son of Thomas, cole porter in Far Water Lane by Margaret his wife, daughter of George Turpin died Jan 21st buried 23rd aged 8 years. In consequence of a fall

Martha Smith wife of Thomas of Castlegate Lane, gardener & daughter of John Harrison, weaver in Marygate by Ann his wife, died Dec 26th buried 28th Dec in the south churchyard a few yards south east of the porch aged 40 years. Illiac passion from the authority of Dr White

John Shann of Heslington farmer died 1st Aug buried the 3rd in the churchyard aged 78 years. Cancer in the leg

Ann Wright wife of Joseph Wright, coachman to Bielby Thompson Esq of Escrick died at Walmgate without Bar 29th Aug buried 31st Aug in the churchyard aged 49 years. Decline

Thomas Rickaby  publican died at without Walmgate Bar 26th Nov buried 29th Nov in the churchyard aged 42. Insanity

Richard Pottage of Escrick, farm servant died 25th Feb buried 26th Feb aged 18 years Decline

Tabitha Mary Wright daughter of John Wright, coachman in London died 25th June buried 28th June aged 13 years. Consumption

1796

George Hugle Soldier of the Prince of Wales Dragoon Guards. Found drowned 5th Feb in the river Foss, permitted to be buried by the Coroners' Inquest

Richard Seamour a tailor in York, accidentally shot on the 29th Dec buried in the churchyard 1st Jan by the authority of the Coroners' Inquest aged 40 years

Sophia Winter daughter of William Winter, tailor to the Comedians, St Helen's parish died 8th April buried 10th April aged 5 years. Decline

Joseph Wright late coachman to Bielby Thompson Esq of Escrick died 7th May buried 10th May in the churchyard aged 60 years. Decline
